What is the Skoolbo Learnathon?
The Skoolbo Learnathon is an exciting way to improve educational outcomes and, at the same time, raise extra funds for your child’s classroom.
Children are challenged to answer 1,000 personalised literacy and numeracy questions over the Learnathon period. 100% of the funds raised go towards providing teaching resources for their classroom.
How will the Skoolbo Learnathon benefit my child?
Skoolbo is all about helping children master foundational literacy and numeracy skills. 94% of children master a learning skill on Skoolbo within 20 minutes!
The Learnathon provides a significant additional motivation element for children as well as a clear goal and focus period.
Children will gain pride in helping raise funds for their classroom and will also receive the benefits in class that the additional teaching resources will bring.
There are some exciting digital rewards for children upon successful participation in the Learnathon.

Do children have to raise money to participate in the Learnathon?
No - fundraising for your classroom is purely voluntary.
When does the Learnathon start and finish?
The Skoolbo Learnathon runs from March 27 to May 19, 2017. Participation can commence at any stage.
How do I access the Learnathon page?
You can access the Learnathon tab by logging into your child’s account. Here, you will find the letter to parents from Skoolbo, which has detailed instructions on how to access Learnathon.
How do I see my child’s Learnathon page?
Parents receive details of their child’s Learnathon page via a letter sent home by teachers. Family and friends are able to pledge their support on the Learnathon page.
Are donations tax deductible?
No - the Skoolbo Learnathon is not a registered charity.
Are there any fees associated with the Skoolbo Learnathon?
No - the Skoolbo Learnathon is completely free of charge. All of the funds raised go directly to child’s teacher to use to purchase teaching resources.
Do children bring money into the classroom?
No - all donations are made electronically on the secure fundraising page, which is reached via the child’s Learnathon page.
What can teachers purchase with the funds raised?
The Skoolbo Teacher Shop contains resources specifically designed to help create engaging learning environments. We are working with some of the world’s leading providers, including National Geographic Kids, First News, BBC micro:bit, Jason Learning, and Minecraft Education. Products include downloadable lesson plans, PowerPoints, professional development, and experience days to improve learning outcomes.
